Barackobama.com the Top Visited Candidate Website Last Week

Obama website visited by more Super Tuesday states;

McCain website receives largest increase of visits

 

NEW YORK, NY - February 5, 2008 - Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, today announced that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's website, www.barackobama.com, was the most visited website among all presidential candidates for the week ending February 2, 2008. Barackobama.com received 36 percent of U.S. visits amongst presidential candidate websites for last week and increased 20 percent compared to the previous week.

Hillaryclinton.com was the second most visited candidate website for last week receiving 16.4 percent of traffic among all candidate websites followed by RonPaul2008.com with 15 percent. Following Paul, was MikeHuckabee.com with 12.7 percent. John McCain's website, JohnMccain.com, received the largest increase of traffic for the week with a 32 percent gain.

Super Tuesday State Traffic

Among Super Tuesday Primary states, Hitwise compared the market share of U.S. visits for all of the major Democratic and Republican candidates within a specific state to identify the candidate with the highest volume of traffic by state. Within the Democratic race, the differences in market share for each of the websites are very small between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, with the Obama website receiving the larger volume of visits from the most states - 12 total. Hillary Clinton's website received the largest volume of visits from 10 states including California and New York, which have the largest amount of delegates between them. John McCain's website was the most visited by the most states, eight total, and his website was the most visited in California and New York state. Both Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee's website were most visited websites among six states each.
